Here are some photos of some famous landmarks in Fayette County, Pa. Fayette County was named after the French General, The Marquis de LaFayette. In the American Revolution, Lafayette served in the Continental Army under George Washington. The first picture is of Albert Gallatin's home. Albert Gallatin was born in Geneva, Switzerland in 1761 and was the Sec. of Treasury, Congressman and founder of the New York University. He owned this mansion in Fayette County and many acres of property which he named Friendship Hill. It has been restored and is breathtaking

This next photo is of Frank Lloyd Wright's famous Falling Water Home. The water runs right through the center of the home.
The last is a photo of Chrisian Clay Vineyards.
Just wanted to share some photos from my hometown.
Have a great day!
Here we are Monday again. Our house is so quiet. Two of my three children are spending some time with their grandparents. All three were supposed to go but Brooke caught a cold and has pink eye. So it's just her and Jason and I. How weird it would be with just the three of us. She's lovin' all the individual attention which is great since she's the oldest and I depend on her probably a little more than I should. I think I'm gonna have her eye checked out this morning after I clean the missionary house at the church. I have two tickets to the Pittsburgh Zoo and am hoping she will feel better so that maybe she and I could go Wednesday. The twins aren't coming back until Thursday. So we leave for our vacation on Monday morning and I can't wait. It will be so nice to get away even if it's just for a few days. We're going to a resort that has an indoor waterpark among other fun activities for kids. The rooms are all theme based and really geared toward children. I'll take lots of photos! We've finally paired down a lot of our belongings and it's so much easier to clean the house! It's so freeing to get rid of stuff. My friend is giving me a base cabinet with a counter top for my kitchen. I have very little counter space and storage in my kitchen. It drives me crazy not having a place for everything or room to work. So I'm hoping I can get that in my kitchen soon. The only thing is that if it goes in my little table has to go. That means we will eat in the dining room that has pure white carpeting. It was here when we moved in. We want to put different flooring down but have too many other home projects that need attention first. We want to get our woodstove up and running. I would love to cook on it this winter and have a fire burning all winter long. I love the smell of a wood fire. I have some laundry that desperately needs some tending to.
P.S. Tess, I'm working on your Little House tapes and thank you for the mail! You're so dear to me!
